Hold the probe and drag it to the tip of a leg. Tapping works too: first pick the probe, then the leg.

Set the range to Ω (resistance).

Measure step by step

Remove the part from the circuit or lift at least one of its legs. If you measure it in the circuit, parallel parts change the reading. The terminals are very small: touch both solder caps with the probes at once; if you are measuring without removing it from the circuit board, the reading will be misleading.
